Women and Jewelry - Emilie Bouguereau

We wanted to celebrate our new collection with joy, freshness, and happiness. As great fans of Emilie's watercolors, the idea was obvious: to unite our jewelry and her paintings in one creation. Here's a look back at her profile.

Emilie Bouguereau is 31 years old. She is a watercolorist and lives in Paris. Her artistic world is exclusively inspired by nature. She translates her creations into porcelain, patterns, on fabric, and other media.

Emilie and her jewelry

"I have a mother who loves jewelry and has always worn it. Ever since I was little, I've loved it when she would get her jewelry box and let me try it on. It's like a ritual.

As I got older, I managed to "borrow" a lot of her pieces: the ones she no longer wore, all the yellow gold ones, for example, because she only likes gray or white gold now.

For my 25th birthday, I asked for one of her beautiful bracelets as a gift. I think a third of my jewelry belonged to my mother. We also have a habit of having jewelry made by a master jeweler, updating a slightly outdated design, or even creating a model we dream of and can't find in stores."

"I change my jewelry constantly, I pick from my jewelry box as if it were a treasure chest. I wear a lot of it, I'm not afraid to accumulate, they're like little talismans.

They remind me of memories, a birthday, an age, a person, a story, bring me luck, and dress me up. Jewelry, for me, generates emotions.

I have as many necklaces as rings and bracelets. I think I feel particularly dressed up when I wear my rings because I don't wear them every day.

Since my work is mainly manual, I like to have bare fingers to work. When I put them on, it means I'm going out, meeting people, so I feel more dressed up. My earrings, however, never leave me. "

Transmission, circularity, reuse... 💫

"This is what I've always done thanks to my mother. We've always had this philosophy, so nothing seems more obvious or natural to me.

Jewelry carries history and is part of a virtuous circle. I like to think about the longevity of certain stones and the number of hands they can pass through. Diamonds are forever. I like the idea that this confronts us with."

Héloïse & Abélard inspires many good things in me.

A way to treat oneself to wonders without guilt, a certain idea of consumption that seems to me to be the most intelligent and virtuous.

 Emilie's selection

- The Jeanne ring which I absolutely fell in love with and which will become one of my favorite rings.

- The Colette ring which is in the same spirit is absolutely magnificent.

I like the asymmetry in how the stones are set; I find it very modern and original. They seem unique yet completely timeless.

A big thank you to Emilie!

A notebook with the pattern created in collaboration with Emilie will accompany orders from the new collection.
