Philippine and her Heloise ring, a pretty birth jewel

Philippine is Parisian. She fell in love with a birth jewel for Marius, her 6-month-old son.

The Story of Philippine's Choice

"With Julien, my partner, we were looking for a beautiful ring to mark Marius's birth.

I had looked around traditional jewelers a bit and hadn't been tempted.

For my 18th and 25th birthdays, I chose classic jewelry/watches, "must-haves." For this ring, I wanted something more personal.

I started by exploring antique jewelry, looking at auction houses and some boutiques. It's a path I could very well have taken...

Finally, a friend who works in jewelry directed me to Héloïse et Abélard. I liked that it was a small house that doesn't produce thousands of jewels.

I particularly liked the upcycling approach. I really liked the charming and irregular side of the stones combined with Héloïse's contemporary setting.

Finally, we met Héloïse, and it was a wonderful time. It was a pleasure to come and try on the rings, discuss each one, take the time to talk about the stones but also about our desires.

It was a lovely moment choosing the jewelry. And Julien, who was buying me the ring and has no interest in jewelry in general, also had a good time! It made us much happier to buy from a young brand that develops upcycling and has direct and warm relationships with its customers, rather than from a large group."

Her Relationship with Jewelry: Symbolic Pieces

"I love my jewelry; I don't have that much of it... The pieces I have, I wear every day. I have 3 rings, 1 watch, 1 necklace, and 2 bracelets. They all have a symbolic meaning.

I also have a pearl bracelet and necklace that I don't really wear but love very much because they were given to me by people I love. I take off all my jewelry to sleep. Putting it on is part of my morning routine."

"It is now essential to produce less and recycle as much as possible. Recycling, consuming less and better are daily goals for us. It is sometimes not so obvious.

It's a constant learning process.

For example, I wasn't aware that upcycling was an option for my jewelry... but once I saw that Héloïse offered it, it seemed like a huge bonus to be able to make an ethical choice for this birth jewel."

Philippine's selection

- The Héloïse ring we bought for Marius's birth.

I find it simple yet remarkable. I love the assembly of different sized stones. It reminds me of dewdrops or raindrops on a surface. The slight differences in tone and size between the diamonds give it an imperfect side that I find just perfect. Warmer, more natural.

- The Suzanne ring.

- The Giselle ring. I love its retro side and its flower shape.

A big thank you to Philippine and Julien, for your trust.
