Gold and Diamond Certificates
There is a common practice in the jewelry market: providing a certificate of guarantee for diamond quality upon purchase when the diamond is larger than 0.3 carats. Organizations such as GIA and HRD certify this information.
Regarding gold, procedures have been put in place to ensure its traceability.
Key Diamond Certification Bodies: GIA and HRD
Two independent organizations (GIA and HRD) issue certificates according to the 4Cs rule. These institutions are recognized worldwide and issue certificates for all jewelry houses globally.
The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has authority over diamonds, colored stones, and pearls worldwide. Established in 1931, it is the laboratory that originated the "4Cs" (Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat) and the International Diamond Grading System, now the standard for diamond evaluation.
The HRD (Hoge Raad voor Diamant) is a private Belgian foundation created in 1973 at the initiative of the Belgian government and representatives of the diamond industry. HRD has since become the European leader in diamond certification.

They attest to the carat weight of the evaluated diamond, as well as all measurable elements: its depth, the dimensions of the different parts (table, crown, pavilion), its angles, etc.
Héloïse & Abélard Certifications
Héloïse & Abélard diamonds are GIA or HRD certified when their carat weight is greater than 0.30 carats: we follow the same criteria as major jewelry houses.
At Héloïse & Abélard, all our jewelry is made from recycled diamonds of G/H quality, Vs/Si clarity.
A GIA or HRD certificate guaranteeing the diamond's quality (even if recycled and second-hand) is provided upon purchase for all diamonds over 0.3 carats.
This certificate has a cost that is included in the price of H&A jewelry.
The case of CoC certified recycled 18-carat gold
We manufacture all our jewelry from recycled 18-carat gold (rose, yellow, or white). Our 18-carat gold is recycled and traceable, certified Chain-Of-Custody (CoC).
CoC Certification allows companies to provide their customers and partners with independent assurance of responsible sourcing. To learn more about the various existing eco-responsible certifications, we invite you to learn more about existing ethical labels.
