Wear, store, clean, repair
Jewellery maintenance is based on 3 fundamentals: wearing, storing, and cleaning. However, if a piece of jewellery breaks, don't worry, jewellers also know how to repair!
Now let's dive into practical tips.
Wearing
18-carat gold and diamonds are obviously water-resistant, so no worries there!
Wearing your jewellery in the shower or a swimming pool will not affect its quality over time, but we still advise removing it in certain risky situations that could make your jewellery dirty or "make it disappear". Here's a non-exhaustive list of risky situations:
- The use of beauty products (shampoo, soap) or everyday cleaning/chemical products can cause your jewellery to lose its sparkle, as a thin layer of product could build up on it and make the diamond appear duller. If possible, remove your jewellery when you are in the shower.
- In summer, at the sea or in the pool, your jewellery can be worn, but the safest option is to remove it before swimming: you won't risk losing it!
- Although 18-carat gold is very durable, your jewellery is still a precious object and you must be careful not to deform or scratch it in the event of an impact. We therefore advise you to remove your jewellery when you are doing sports activities (intense sport, or manual work such as DIY or when moving house).
More generally, you should avoid situations that could damage the ring due to strong or repetitive pressure as much as possible. For example, a small tip for gym enthusiasts: a wedding ring should be removed if you are doing weightlifting exercises, otherwise it risks deforming 😊
Storing
When you're not wearing your jewellery, remember to store it in its case! This will prevent any scratches or deformation... and more importantly, it prevents you from losing it.
Jewellery is often sold in a case or pouch, so it's best to store each piece of jewellery individually in its pouch/case. If you put all your jewellery in the same pouch, they could get scratched. So, if you want to put two rings in the same case without damaging them, good news, we've thought of the double case!

Cleaning
We advise you to clean your jewellery regularly: about once a month. This helps prevent the accumulation of dust or dirt that can make them dull.
Maintaining jewellery is a necessary ritual for its longevity and sparkle.
We therefore advise you to follow our simple but effective recipe that will allow you to continue to admire your jewellery shining like new.
To follow this care recipe, you will need:
-
A soft-bristled toothbrush
-
Lukewarm water
-
Mild soap
-
A soft cloth
-
Prefer the use of natural and ecological products.
First step: Mix lukewarm water and mild soap in a bowl. The soapy water mixture is very effective and sufficient to clean your jewellery.
Second step: Place your jewellery in the bowl and let it soak for a few minutes. The warm water will soften small dirt particles and dissolve any grease embedded in the nooks and crannies of your jewellery.
Third step: Gently brush your jewellery with the toothbrush, making sure to clean under the stones.
Fourth step: Rinse, and use a soft, clean cloth to dry your jewellery.
Repairing
It can happen that a piece of jewellery breaks, if this is the case we advise you to contact the jeweller who made the ring directly.
If you no longer have their contact details, do not hesitate to visit the artisan jeweller you usually go to.
